Keyes says Obama is taking "slaveholder's position." He would know

Excerpt: I actually saw Keyes give a speech to the African American Student Union at Harvard Business School. I thought it was interesting, in the way that you think a dog eating its own pooh then licking its owners face is interesting, and wrong.

If you're unfamiliar with the situation, Obama's original Republican opponent, Jack Ryan, stepped out after it was revealed that he pressured and tricked his wife into going to sex clubs on several occasions.

When Ryan bowed out on June 26, Republicans said they'd find a replacement in three weeks. That would have been July 17. It took them a little longer, but this past weekend, they announced self-hating, hyprocritical negro Alan Keyes as their nominee. Keyes has a very distinguished past

- Lost two senatorial bids (1988 and 1992) in his homestate of Maryland and paid himself $100,000 salary out of the 1992 campaign, which is just wrong
- Lost two bids to become the Republican nominee for President (1996 and 2000)
- After benefiting from civil rights advances and affirmative action, has gone on to develop a career undermining progress for black people
- As US ambassador to the UN under Reagan, opposed sanctions on S. Africa
- Sounds like he's high on helium
- Winner of the Buckwheat Award

The Republicans couldn't get former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, so they went for Keyes. Maybe they hoped black people would be happy with any black person and others would think "all black guys look alike. Which one is not the backstabbing, extreme right wing nutcase again? Well, 'Keyes' sounds American."

Great strategy. Might have worked. If only

a) Obama had not already proven he is more than qualified to rep the people of Illinois and

b) Keyes had kept his mouth shut

I actually saw Keyes give a speech to the African American Student Union at Harvard Business School. I thought it was interesting, in the way that you think a dog eating its own pooh then licking its owners face is interesting, and wrong.

In addition to Keyes not being familiar with Illinois, not living there (I'll forgive the right wing attacks on Hillary for running in NY), he holds some of the most extreme positions, and one of those came out yesterday.

He called Obama's views on abortion (Obama voted against outlawing late-term abortions since the bill had no provisions for the mother's safety) "the slaveholder's position."

Keyes would know. He's been articulating the slaveholder's position his entire life.
