This is my first holiday season in a warm climate. I’m in South Florida with my girlfriend and her family, and it’s 79 degrees right now. This is the true spirit of Christmas. One complaint though: too many old people down here.

(16 Dec 2005) Baratunde is excited to announce that he’s an official comic member of Laughing Liberally, an organization dedicated to promoting democracy “one laugh at a time.” He will be performing at the Lab on December 21 and at the inaugural showcase in NYC’s Town Hall in February
Gov. Arnold has denied clemency to Stanley “Tookie” Williams, who will be executed just after midnight tonight. I’ll be brief on this subject. I am opposed to the death penalty and saddened by this development.

There is much to fear as an American today. The Muslims are out to get us. Mexicans keep sneaking across our borders. The bird flu is coming, and God keeps trying to kill us with his floods. But none of these worry me as much as this headline I saw in the New York Times yesterday: “China Overtakes U.S. as Supplier of Information Technology Goods.”
